PALACE

On the site of the current palace, a brick mansion stood as early as 1481. The existing building was erected in the mid-16th century. von Reibnitz as a defensive mansion surrounded by a moat. The estate remained in the hands of the family until 1759. During this period, the residence gained a mansard roof and Baroque stucco in the main hall. At the end of the 18th century. Count von Reden became the owner of the palace, he initiated the reconstruction of the building in the spirit of classicism. The modernization did not disturb the earlier mass of the building, the modest façade was decorated with a new portal in the form of a typical neoclassical serliana.

However, the palace’s interiors have undergone major changes. An oval hall was then created, lit by a dome with a skylight, preceding the representative dining room. Rooms on the ground and first floors were decorated with stucco. After the war, the palace was rebuilt several times. It is now the headquarters of the Union of Giant Mountains Municipalities.
